This is the December 1956 issue of Country Song Roundup. Interestingly, of the songs listed on the cover, many of them are crossover hits - doing well on the country charts/radio/records, as well as being early rock n’ roll hits.
The magazine features Faron Young on the cover. It contains 36 pages and measures approximately 8.25 x 11.5 inches.
The magazine has numerous articles, black & white photos of stars like Johnny Cash, Hank Snow, etc., as well as vintage advertisements. The inside back cover has a full-page advertisement about “The Official Elvis Presley Album” (magazine) and there is a large photo of Elvis.
Published by the Charlton Publishing Corporation or American Folk Publications for many years, this magazine was unique in the sense that it covered the post-World War II era of country music on and through the new century.
