This listing consists of a 1938 Chevrolet panel truck carrying Mickey Thompson Enterprises graphics and logo.
Most true motorheads are quite familiar with Mickey Thompson the remarkable mechanic, fabricator, manufacturer and auto racer from the early dragstrips on abandoned airstrips in southern California to the Indianapolis 500 to Baja Mexico.
Mickey Thompson was the quintessential automobile fanatic.
This truck paying tribute to Thompson was manufactured by Ertl in 1992 and was a part of the Performance Pioneers Series originally sold through the Eastwood Company of Malvern, Pennsylvania. The truck has all of the original packaging and has never been displayed except for being out of the box to be photographed.
The scale is approximated at 1/24.
All of the graphics are pad printed not decals. Being a coin bank there is a slot on the roof and a compartment door on the bottom that opens with the key attached in the same location. Bumpers, grille wheels and headlamps are chrome plated. Tires are rubber. The truck
is painted light blue with dark blue fenders and running boards.
