Description

The New Yorker Magazine, June 29, 1940, complete issue in beautiful shape. Mary Petty did the cover. This issue is notable for containing "Why I Don't Believe In Superman," a three-page profile of the DC Comics character Superman, which discusses his adventures and origin and other characters in his life (as well as his having been protested against in a Nazi newspaper), written by E.J. Kahn, Jr.  Also in this issue is the Nancy Hale story "Six-Fifteen," and more. The pages are crisp and clean, bright white without a hint of foxing or any other staining, no writing, nothing missing, tight to the staples. Strictly graded Fine; it is in great shape, put away when brand new (along with many others we have) by an obsessive New Yorker collector from whom we acquired it, untouched since new until now. We have many other beautiful New Yorkers online now so please take a look.
