Description
The New Yorker Magazine, October 30, 1943, complete issue in nice shape. Constantin Alajalov did the cover. This issue is notable for being the first published appearance of the Shirley Jackson story, "On The House," with other contributions from James Thurber, Saul Steinberg, Philip Dunne, Brendan Gill, Robert Lewis Taylor and others. The pages are crisp and clean without a hint of foxing or any other staining, no writing, nothing missing, tight to the staples. There are faint stress marks along the spine; it looks newsstand fresh overall but has a small bit of foxing along the front cover border at the left edge, starting about halfway up fro center, strictly graded "VG" because of the foxing, otherwise Near Mint; it was put away new by a dedicated New Yorker collector from whom we recently obtained it. We have many other beautiful New Yorkers online now so please take a look.
