    Description

    Royal Dux Porcelain Figurine of a Boy collecting jugs of water in rare accents of Cobalt Blue 24”. Condition is damaged at the base and covered with velvet and decorative cord trim. Other visible damage to the figurine is a repair to one foot, and there are a few visible fine lines that appear to be age related. We have not removed the velvet covered repair to the bass, so do not know what remains of the original figuring underneath or if there remain any identifying marking from Royal Dux. We do not see any damage to the face or fingers. The figuring measures 24” from the velvet repaired base bottom to the top of his hat, and the figuring measures approximately 11.5” wide.

    Duxer Porzellanmanufaktur, or Dux Porcelain Manufactory, was started in 1860 by Eduard Eichler in what was then Duchov, Bohemia. The high quality pottery and porcelain figures produced there are now generally referred to by the abbreviated name, "Royal Dux."
    Ownership of the business changed frequently over the last 150 years. Bohemia became part of Czechoslovakia which was in turn controlled first by Germany then the Soviet Union. In 1990, even the national name was changed to Czech Republic.
