    This is a great tool for milling, welding and drilling.
    Sometime you need a small support stand to make the job happen. I have used them has parallels in a vise. You can add a1,2,3 block or plates under the jack to make it a taller jack. Set screw is for locking the adjustable screw. I had used other types of milling jacks but they was to tall. Sold in pairs.
